OBITUARY.
LONG.
Died January 15, 1904, at Lo{missing} Iowa, Mrs. Mary E. Long, aged, {missing}eight years.
Her death was preceded by a{missing} and painful ilness,{sic} which was {missing}with true christian resignation {missing} characteristic of her life.
Everything which loving {missing} could do was done to alleviate {missing} sufferings.
Deseased{sic} was born in Wor{missing}| Mass. Being left an orphan w{missing} child, Rev. Father Fitton of W{missing}ter was appointed her guardian.
She received her early educat{missing} a convent school in Worcester, {missing}wards attending college at Wil{missing}ton, Del. When about eighteen of age she was united in marria{missing} Mr. John T. Long and then mo{missing} Iowa. ;
She was the mother of eleven {missing}dren. Besides two sisters and a {missing}er in Mass., nine of her children{missing} left to mourn her loss. Francis, J{missing} Joseph, William, and Mrs. John {missing}ligan, of Lourdes, Iowa, Mrs. {missing} Pope of Hudson, Mass., John of {missing} Iowa, Mrs. Etta Winters and {missing}James Brophy of Milroy, Minn.
In accordance with her wishes, six sons acted as pall bearers.
Services were held Sunday a{missing} church of Our Lady of Lourdes.
Father Weineke officiating. He{missing} was laid to rest beside that o{missing} husband who had preceded her {missing}teen years.
It can truthfully be said of {missing} “that the world is better because{missing} lived,” and we hope she has a{missing}heard those consoling words, “{missing} he blessed of my Father and ;{missing} the kingdom which is prepare{missing} you.”
