MARSHALL,.
Hannah Pinder Traer was born in the city of Truro, England, May 2nd, 1836, and when quite young moved with her parents to Liverpool, where she was married to Howard Marshall January 22nd, 1863. Shortly afterward she came to the United States, settling on a farm in Muscatine county, Iowa, where she resided until 1868, when she came to Howard county, locating in the village of Vernon Springs. In 1879 she moved to Cresco, where she resided until her death which occurred on Sunday, August 2nd, 1903, at 7:30 a. m., aged 67 years and 3 months. Her husband and three children survive her, vis., Arthur, of St. Louis, Mo; Mrs, S. R. Robinson, of Grinnell, Iowa; and Howard, Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn , all of whom were present at the funeral. Another daughter to whom the deceased was greatly attached died in 1885 at the age of 21.
The funeral was held at the residence on Tuesday, August 4th, conducted by Rev. J. B. Smith, pastor of the Baptist church. Interment was in Oak Lawn.
She was a zealous christian and a devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by a large circle of relatives and friends.
Rev. J. B. Smith was assisted in the funeral exercises by Rev. C. A. Marshall. The prayer the latter made was pronounced the finest ever heard In Cresco, by numbers present. The bearers were the deceased two sons, her son-in-law, Rev. S. R. Robinson, and her three nephews; Tony, C. A. and Rev. Chas. Marshall.
