Ex-Supervisor Hans Jacobson, of New Oregon township, who has been in poor health for some times, died last Saturday.

HANS JACOBSON.
Haas Jacobson was born July 1st 1835 near Skien, Norway. Died July 18, 1903 He came with his parents to Racine oonnty, Wisconsin, in 1843. In the spring of 1859 he started to Pike’s Peak, Colorado, but did not go farther than Kansas returning to Iowa in the fall of 1860. He was enrolled in company C 15 Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, November 6, 1861, to to{sic} serve three years; he was honorably discharged on completion of service. At Murfeeboro he was shot in the shoulder, was wounded on the head, was confined in Libbey prison forty days.
He was married to Anne J. Johnson May 9th 1865. Seven children were born the youngest dying in infancy.
They came to Howard county in 1867 and settled near Saude where they have since resided.
He was one of the trustworthy substantial men of the county, served four years on the board of supervisors, and held many other positions that proved his competency and faithfulness.
His G. A. R. comrades of Cresco were his pall bearers. Rev. Boe, his pastor spoke In Norwegian at the home and gave an excellent address in English at the church. His friends were legion, enemies he had none.—Times.
