Obituary.

C. L. MILLER, OF ALBION.

C. L. Miller was born the 18th of December 1954, at Ashen Riege, Germany. The family moved to Manistee, Mich., when Mr. Miller was but 8 years of age. He was confirmed in 1871 in the German Lutheran church at Manistee and has been a faithful member since. Mr. Miller has been ailing since last fall and was supposed to have rheumatism. During the winter he went to Rochester, Minn., to the hospital twice, but without benefit; this spring he was some better for awhile but about a month ago he was taken worse and was confined to bed ever since; two weeks ago Thursday he took the Holy Communion and said he was ready to go, but he got some better again and gained for about three days. On June 4th he was taken worse again; his brother, who was here from Manistee, Mich., on seeing that he was gaining was about to leave Thursday, but when his brother went to bid him goodbye he told him to remain till Sunday; Thursday, toward evening, he wished to see his family, his brothers and his sister and told them everything, also telling them that he was going safely home and that they should be glad. On Saturday, his brother, who had stayed at his request, sister and Mrs. Miller were sitting by his bedside and he called for his wife and told her he was going home tomorrow; Sunday morning he passed peacefully to the Great Beyond, being conscious to the last. During his last illness he was under the care of Dr. Carpenter, of Lime Spring. Wednesday, June 10th, he was buried at the German Lutheran church at Granger, Minn. The church was draped in mourning with a large crown hanging over his head and a cross also, he had a beautiful black casket. He was a patient sufferer during all his illness and bore his cross bravely, trusting in Jesus and was going the right way which we all know. He leaves a wife, 5 small children, 3 brothers, a sister, an aged father and many friends and neighbors to mourn his loss.
CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to express our gratitude to the friends and neighbors who so kindly aided us during the illness and death of our beloved husband and father.
MRS. C. L. MILLER AND CHILDREN.
