Mrs. John Strinz died Monday evening about 9:40 o’clock, after a long and painful illness. The funeral will occur Wednesday afternoon from the home at 2 o’clock.

OBITUARY.
Mrs. John Streinz who died at her home la Cresco, Monday, January 12, 1903, was born October 26, 1843, at Lockhaven, Pa. Her maiden name was Mary Shmelzle. She was one of the early settlers of Winneshiek county, moving there In 1854. She was married to John Streinz at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in 1863, and in 1867 they moved to Cresco where they have since made their home. A few months ago she was taken ill and so seriously that she was taken to Rochester for treatment, which proved unavailing and only after several months of intense suffering was she finally freed from all pain.
A husband and three children, Mrs. Ida Ayers of Mason City, Mrs. Minnie Connolly of Minneapolis, and John Jr. of Cresco, are left to mourn the loss of a faithful and loving wife and mother.
The funeral was at the home on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. U. A. Marshall officiating, the interment being In Oak Lawn,Transcriber’s Note: Her last name is spelled two different ways; however, her gravestone shows Streinz and her gravestone also shows the year of her birth as 1844.
