Obituary.
Martha Matilda Dean, was born at Port Dover, Canada, April 28, 1834, and moved with her parents to Winnesheik{sic} county, Iowa, in 1850; married to John Crawford, July 2, 1853; died at her home in Orleans township, August 18, 1902, aged 68 years, 3 months and 21 days.
To this union was born nine children, four of which are living, Frank, Mrs. R. W. McCloud, Mrs. F. E. Fuller, Cresco, and Mrs. G. W. Daniels of Ossian. All were present to minister to her last hours.
It can truly be said of her that she possessed all the virtues that go to make the model mother and home keeper. It was her highest ambition to do for others; self, always being put in the background.
The funeral was held at her home, Rev. Barrett officiating. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. She was laid to rest in beautiful Oak Lawn Cemetary,{sic} among the flowers she loved so well in life.
CARD OF THANKS.
We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to all our friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during our last sad bereavement.
