MRs. KATHRINE WEBER.
Mrs. Katharine Weber, second wife of Henry Weber was born in Sittinzen Proving Hannover, Germany, in 1821. She was baptized right after birth being a weak child. She attended school and was confirmed in the Lutheran church. When 20 years old, she came to Hermansburg, Hannover, to the noted servant of God, Louis Harms, who was the founder of a missionary school, that has done a great work for God in many heathen countries. There in his house she was awakened to a true spiritual life and remembered the blessed years in Rev. Harms’s house during all her life. In 1856 she married John Prunkhorst, a widower, and brought up his minor children. The family lived in Kielnalerstadt, Hanover, for 8 years. In 1864 they came to America and settled In Brownsville, Houston Co. Minn. Four years afterwards they moved to Howard Co. Iowa, east of Cresco. Six months afterwards her husband died and she was a widow until 1870, when she married Henry Weber, her second husband, a widower likewise, and reared his minor children as a most careful mother. In February of 1900 she was taken sick with cancer of the breast, which at times caused her much suffering. Three weeks before her death she laid on the sickbed awaiting patiently and resigned to God’s will, her end. She died quietly Thursday morning Nov. 1st, 1900, having reached the high age of nearly 80 years. The funeral was held on Friday Nov. 2nd by Rev. Niedermeier, the interment taking place in Oak Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Weber was a member of the German Lutheran church and has given a good example of true Christian life. COM
