Obituary.
Franklin Welsh died last Friday evening, May 4, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Welsh. The deceased was born in Cresco, April 9, 1882, and was aged 18 years and 25 days at the time of his death.
Frank attended the public schools of Cresco till his 14th year, when he entered the jewelry store of C. B. Lau’o, where he learned the jewelry trade. His health failing he went to Grand Forks, N. D., Feb. 1899, to visit his aunts, and secured employment there, but his health not improving he removed to Denver, Colorado in May 1899, thereafter moving to various places in Colorado and to Phoenix, Arizona, returning from the latter place to Cresco on the 23rd of April last, in a very frail condition of health.
The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the M. E. church, Rev. Heald officiating, the interment being in Oak Lawn. A large concourse of people attended the funeral testifying to the high regard in which the young man was held. Several fine floral pieces by the young people were silent reminders of their esteem for their loved schoolmate.
The stricken family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
