Services to be held for D. Rucker
Funeral services for Dorothy Rucker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11 at Garden View Chapel with interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. and Thursday, one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Dorothy, 71, died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at the Ravenwood Health Care Center of natural causes.
Dorothy L. Rucker was born June 23, 1930 in Lime Springs, the daughter of Michael and Ida Mau Bronner.
On February 14, 1953 she married Darwin Rucker in Maple Leaf.
She had worked as a cook at Bieman’s Cafe for many years.
She is survived by one daughter: Diane Buis of Evansdale; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Henry D. of Lime Springs, Earl L. of Jesup, and Arnold E. of Arizona; and five sisters: Edith Mae Benson of Cresco, Marcella G. Haskovec and Marilyn I. Nicholas, both of Lime Springs, Betty Jean Bates of Waterloo, and Elsie L. Pint of Phoenix, AZ.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Darwin on June 11, 1998; one daughter: Sandra Wilson; her parents; one brother: William C.; and three sisters: Lydia Howard, Lorraine Geiken, and Geraldine Price.
