ELMA — Bruce E. Roethler, 40, Elma, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at Colonial Manor Home, Elma of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville with Reverend Michael Parris presiding. Casket bearers will be Mark, Paul and James Roethler, Nicholas and Curtis Koebrick, Keith Titus and Kelly Meyer.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma and will also be one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.
Bruce Edward Roethler was born Feb. 15, 1962 in Des Moines, the son of Donald and Lavonne (Worple) Roethler. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville. He lived with his family on farms between Riceville and Elma and attended school in Riceville. In June of 1991, at the age of 29, he was severely injured in a car accident that left him totally disabled. At the time of his death he was a resident of Colonial Manor Home, Elma.
Survivors include three sons, Mark, Elma, Paul, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Washington and James, Hampton; a grandson; his mother, Lavonne Roethler, Riceville; a sister, Brenda (Steve) Schroetter, Lime Springs and three nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father and a nephew.
