Services held for Ronald Regan
Funeral services for Ronald Regan were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10 at the Conway Funeral Home in Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiating. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston, MN. Honorary pallbearers were: Gene Shaffer, Gary Cleveland, Bill Fenske, Francis Smith, Jim Marik, and Jack Smith. Pallbearers were: Chris and Sandi Lybbert, Jodi Jerry, Jack, and Jeff Regan, and Dan Campion. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Ronald John Regan was born April 20, 1928 in Ashland, WI. He attended rural school through the eighth grade and returned home to work on the farm.
Ron worked for Duesenberg Construction from 1943 until 1953, as a grader operator. He entered the Army in March of 1953, during the Korean War, and was discharged in March 1955. He worked for various farmers, and spent some time living in Oregon, where he worked as a mechanic for Birdseye Frozen Foods. He returned to the Cresco area in 1984 and began working as the custodian at the Cresco Care Center.
He liked to go for drives and enjoyed visiting with people.
He is survived by two brothers: Clarence of Cedar Rapids and Donald of Fairfax; and three sisters: Patricia Lybbert of Cresco, Midge Dawson of Westminster, MD, and Peg Campion of Eyota, MN.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father John Grant; and two brothers: William in 1991 and Richard F. in 1990.
