Funeral services for Vera Engelhardt formerly of Charles City, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Charles City with Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating, Interment was in Lime Springs Cemetery, Lime Springs. Fullerton Mage Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Vera, 87, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home.
Vera Helen Ella Engelhardt was born July 19, 1914 in rural Howard Co., the daughter of Richard and Anna (Reinhardt) Martens.
On August 20, 1932 she married Abner John Engelhardt in Preston, MN. They farmed for many years.
She loved reading the newspaper, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. She also enjoyed baking and tending to her flower gardens.
She is survived by her children: Darryl of Garrison, Vicky Davies of Charles City, Nancy Howland of Davenport, Joanie Lukes of Washburn, Debra Foster of Greene; 25 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Abner; two sons: Arlyn and Jerry, Sr.; two daughters: Judith Harrington and infant daughter Peggy; her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
