Services held
Funeral services for Norbert Drilling of Bloomington, IN were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington with Rev. Charles Chesebrough officiating. Interment was in Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel handled the arrangements.

Norbert, 79, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at the Bloomington Hospital after a brief stay for rehabilitation at Bell Trace Nursing Home.
Norbert G. Drilling was born September 10, 1922 in Cresco, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Drilling.
On November 22, 1952 he married Patricia Dunn at Iowa State University in Ames.
Norbert served in the U.S. Army during World War II, seeing combat in France, Italy, and Germany. He was a member of the Army Reserves for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Major. He received the Bronze Star for duty in combat.
Mr. and Mrs. Drilling moved to Indianapolis in 1952 and to Bloomington in 1965.
He was retired after working as an electrical engineer for RCA in Indianapolis and Bloominton{sic}. He also worked for Bearcat in Indianapolis. He received his degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University in Ames.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Bloomington; and two sisters: Ruth Kuhn of Cedar Rapids and Grace Kandler of Woodbury, MN.
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Donald.
