M. L. McNally Killed.
M. L. McNally, for some fifteen years a resident of Lime Springs in the employ of the Huntting Elevator Company, was injured by a Burlington train at 12 and Taylor streets in Chicago Thursday last from the effect of which he died next morning, aged about 44 years. He had but a few moments before left the office of Albert Dickinson & Co. in whose employ he had been for the past year and a half, for his home at Le Grange. At that place the tracks of the railways run near each other and trains were passing in each direction one of which he saw and stepping out of its way he stepped in front of the Burlington train, receiving a fractured skull and broken leg, rendering him insensible from which he did not recover consciousness. His wife died about two years ago and rests in St. Joseph’s Cemetery just west of this city and Monday morning he was placed by her side, followed by a large delegation of friends from Lime Springs as well as from Cresco and the surrounding country. His death renders his four children orphans indeed. The eldest Loretta is about 20 years of age, and the three boys, Charles, Lucien and Victor are younger. The deceased was postmaster four years at Lime Springs, an upright man and a good citizen and is mourned by all who knew him.

Transcriber’s Note: Calvary Cresco Cemetery records indicate this was Michael and he was born February 14, 1855.
