Another Pioneer Gone-
Mr. A. G. Hubbard, one of the pioneer settlers of this county passed away at his home near the village of Chester last Thursday and was laid to rest in the cemetery near that place last Saturday, a large concourse of people from all parts of the county, attending to pay their last respects to one whom they had honored during his life. He was born in Madison county, New York, in 1830 and was past 59 years of age. He left the state of New York when 21 years of age, locating on the farm where he died. He was united in marriage in 1857 with Miss Frances M. Eaton, who with two children Fred E. and Fannie E. survive him. He was several times a member of the board of supervisors, which office he filled to the general satisfaction of his constituents. He was a good citizen in all the walks of life and is mourned by a large acquaintance.Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave records indicate this was Alonzo Green Hubbard and is buried in Chester Hill Cemetery.
