MOSES N. HOLCOMB.
One of the early settlers of the county, who was a native of Massachusetts born November 19, 1820, died May 20, 1899, at his home in Albion. The deceased came to Howard county forty three years ago and had always made his home in the township. His wife was Anna J. Taft, daughter of James Taft, and she with several children mourn the loss of a good husband and father. Mr. Holcomb was an honest, upright man in all the relations of life, a true friend, devoted to the cause of truth, justice and right, and with such a creed could not do wrong to anyone. His interment was Oak Lawn whither his remains were followed by a vast concourse of sorrowing friends, relatives and neighbors.
