Funeral services for Eileen Rice of Cresco were held on Thursday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Cresco. Rev. Gary K. Lee and Intern Gail Hermodson officiated. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco. Pallbearers were: Jeremy Rice, Mike Mrachek, Les Perry, Greg Perry, Bemell Ramlo, and Clarion Ramlo. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Eileen, 73, died Sunday, February 18, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Eileen Loraine Rice was born June 18, 1927 in Winneshiek County, the daughter of Lars and Pearl (Foss) Rue. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lincoln Lutheran Church. She graduated from Ridgeway High School.
On July 23, 1946 she married Wayne R. Rice at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived around the Cresco area during their married life.
Survivors include one son: Randy of Cresco; one daughter: Connie Mrachek of Charles City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister: Phyllis Rix of Cresco.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 1978; an infant daughter: Shari Ann; a grandson; and her parents.
