Jerry Malone, 53 services held
Funeral services for Jerry Malone were held on Wednesday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Saratoga Presbyterian Church in Saratoga. Rev. Tim Sir officiated. Interment was in Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga. Pallbearers were: Chad Foster, Da- lyn Souhrada, Robert Kraft, Jim Saltou, Lynus Houdek, and Larry Smith. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Jerry, 53, died Sunday, January 21, 2001 at the Iowa City Veteran’s Hospital.
Jerry Lee Malone was born October 31, 1947 in Grinnell, the son of Luther and Barbara Malone. At an early age they moved to a farm near Saratoga. Jerry attended country school, later graduating from Crestwood High School in 1966. He served in the Army doing a tour in Vietnam.
In September 1970 he married Margo Ernst.
Jerry drove semi for many years. During his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three daughters: Heather Foster of Hampton, Tara Malone of LaCrosse, WI, and Erin Malone, Cresco; three grandchildren; and his mother, Barbara Malone of Colorado Springs, CO.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father.
