Services for Virgil Lewis, 67
Virgil Dale Lewis, age 67, passed away at his residence on February 5, 2001 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at the Saratoga Presbyterian Church in Saratoga,
Iowa on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Sir officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.
Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville on Friday, February 9, during the hours of 4-8 p.m.
Virgil was born on April 21, 1933 in Gregory, South Dakota to Elgin and Cora Sorber Lewis. He attended local schools. On September 21, 1952, Virgil was united in marriage to Waneta Marie Kraft in Lake City, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife Waneta of Lime Springs, Iowa; four sons: Michael and his wife Deborah of Chester, Iowa, Jeffery and his wife Nancy of Floyd, Iowa, Danny and his wife Susan of Leonard, Texas, and Mark and his wife Michelle of Riceville; two daughters: Lisa Bartels and her husband Rick of Riceville, and Lynette Grimm and her husband Doug, also of Riceville; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Cecil and his wife Mardell of Edinburg, Tex., Darold and his wife Sandra of Leonard, Tex., and Elgin Jr. and his wife Connie of Riceville; and two sisters: Lois Schramm and her husband Dale of Atlantic, Iowa and Doris Derry and her husband Darrell of LeRoy, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
