Richard Kraft, 71, Bettendorf
A service to celebrate the life of Richard H. Kraft, 71, a resident of Bettendorf, was held Monday, Sept. 17, 2001 at Community of Joy in Bettendorf. Pastor Terri Elder officiated. The body was cremated.
Richard died Thursday, Sept. 13, at his home after an extended illness. He was employed as a supervisor at Caterpillar Tractor Co., Mount Joy, Iowa. He retired in 1985 after 25 years with the company. '
Richard was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ernest and Josie (Aberg) Kraft. He married Kathleen Richey on July 2, 1950 at Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Kerri Kenyon, Tulsa, Okla.; his son, Steven Kraft, East Moline; and his three grandchildren.
Richard grew up in the Saratoga area and his wife Kathleen grew up in Riceville.
