Funeral services for Frank Kostohryz were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8 at the Holy Trinity Church with interment in the Holy Trinity Cemetery both in Protivin. Rev. John Moser officiated. Conway Funeral, Home handled the arrangements.
Frank, 86, died Thursday, October 4, 2001 at the Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital in Cresco.
Frank Leonard Kostohryz was born December 2, 1914 in New Oregon Township, Howard County, the son of Frank and Mary (Sobolik) Kostohryz. He was educated in the rural school and returned to the farm to help his family.
On July 8, 1946 he married Adella Rose Hrdlicka in the Holy Trinity Church at Protivin. They made their home on the farm southeast of Cresco where he still resided. Frank let farming take precedence, he liked to make sure that it was done right.
Frank liked polka music, playing the drums in bands, and reading. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church.
He is survived by his children: Larry of Cresco and Sharon Kostohryz of Rochester, MN; two grandsons; one brother: John of Cresco; and one sister: Pauline Zahasky of Cresco.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Adella on July 2, 2000 and his parents.
