Funeral services for Gladys Johnson were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lime Springs with Rev. Linda Johnson officiating. Interment was in Saratoga Cemetery at Saratoga. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Gladys, 90, died Monday, October 29, 2001 at the Stacyville Care Center.
Gladys Geneva Johnson was born October 10, 1911 in York Township, Fillmore Co. MN near Chester on the Kingsley family farm, the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Holmen) Kingsley. She attended school at the Victory School in Fillmore Co. up through the eighth grade.
On October 10, 1939 she married Iris Lavem Johnson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lime Springs. She lived on the family farm near Saratoga from the time of her marriage until moving to the Stacyville Care Center in 1991.
She is survived by her three children: Lance of St. Louis, MO, Kirby of Lime Springs, Kingsley of Thompson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters: Lillian Arett of Spring Valley, MN and Laura Zidlicky of Oelwein.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and five brothers and sisters.
