Funeral services for Ashley Hyke were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27 at the Assumption Worship Center with interment in Calvary Cemetery, both at Cresco. Rev. Henry W. Charipar, Rev. Steve Peterson, and Rev. David Schatz officiated. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Ashley, 8, died Monday, July 9, 2001.
Ashley Nichole Lucas was born April 12, 1993 in Cresco the daughter of Bert Lucas and Angela Hyke.
She was attending Notre Dame Elementary School and would have been in the third grade in the fall. Ashley liked to ride her bicycle, a proven fact by the band-aids she wore on her knees. She was very creative and did projects with her mother to give as gifts.
Ashley is survived by her father: Bert Lucas of Cresco; her grandparents: Rose Lucas of Cresco, Francis and Audrey Hyke of Cresco; Sharee Melver of Lime Springs; paternal great-grandmother: Ellen Stevens of Cresco; maternal great-grandfather: George Melver of Cresco; maternal great-grandmother: Agnes McGee of Cresco and maternal great-grandmother Lillian Stepan of Cresco.
Ashley Is preceded in death by paternal grandfather: William Lucas; maternal great-grandfather: Glenn Hyke; maternal great-
