A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Darlene Hulett of Topeka, KS formerly of Beloit, KS and Branson, MO on Tuesday, January 2 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka. Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday at Ozarks Memorial Park in Branson.
Darlene, 70, died Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at a Topeka hospital.
Darlene Mary Hulett was born April 19, 1930 in Cresco, the daughter of Richard and Gladys (Ryan) McCabe. She grew up in Harmony, MN where she graduated from high school. She received a nursing degree in Rochester.
On November 24, 1951 she married Don W. Hulett in Hawaii. In 1985 they retired to Branson, MO from Beloit. She had lived in Topeka since 1998.
Darlene was a former member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Beloit, KS and was active in the ladies’ guild. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Beloit and the Telephone Pioneers Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters: Susan K. LaBin and Kathy M. Collins, both of Topeka; two sons: Gilbert J. of Beloit and Michael W of Lawrence, KS; four brothers: Charles of Lansboro, MN, Orvin of Atlanta, GA, Jim of Kirksville, MO, Roger of Harmony, MN; and five sisters: Alice McCabe of Seattle, WA, Rosella Peterson of Harmony, Grace Reicks of Bella Vista, AR, Donna Weber of Springfield, MO, Marilyn Schorr of Lansing; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Don on August 22, 1997; her parents; and two brothers.
