Funeral services for Georgina Hubka of Cresco were held on Thursday, February 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindstrom Funeral Home with Frank Fagerburg officiating.
Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery near Protivin.
Georgina, 85, died Sunday, January 28, 2001 at the LaCrosse Gundersen Lutheran Hospital.
Georgina Mae Hubka was bom September 10, 1915 in Howard County, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Markovetz) Vopava. She attended rural schools and graduated from high school. She worked as a live in housekeeper.
On November 4, 1936 she married Robert Hubka at the Congregational Parsonage. They farmed south of Cresco.
Georgina loved her flowers, garden and enjoyed cooking, feeding the birds, and her crossword puzzles.
She was active in the New Oregon Neighbors Woman’s Group for 50 years. She taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge.
Survivors include two sons: Wilmer and Victor both of Cresco; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Georgina was preceded in death by her husband Robert on June 23, 1995; two sons: Ronald and Arlyn; one grandson; and two sisters: Irene Lundak and Emily Voyna.
