ELMA -- Muriel C. Gardner, 82, Elma, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at her home of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at Immaculate! ^Conception Church, Elma with Reverend John Hemann. officiating. Sr. Lenore Gardner will be the organist and will accompany the soloist, Jenny Gardner, and the Immaculate Conception Church Choir singing "On Eagle's Wings", "Ave Maria" and "On This Day O' Beautiful Mother." Lectors will be Veronica Schlicht and Tim Bigley. Gift bearers will be Kim Bazinet and Nancy Fira. Muriel's daughter and grandchildren will place the pall. Justin and Jason Gardner will be mass servers.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Elma, with Mark Bazinet, Mike Schlicht, Tom Schlicht, Dan Gardner, Mike Bigley and Tom Bigley serving as casket bearers.
Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Conway Funeral Home, Elma, with a 4 p.m. Rosary and 7:30 p.m. Scripture Service.
Muriel C. Gardner was born June 2,1919 in Elma, the daughter of Ed and Mabel (Roche) McAvoy. She was united in marriage with Joe Gardner on Nov. 21, 1938 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan Schlicht, Rancho Mirage, CA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Bigley, Elma.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joe and a brother, Leo McAvoy.

Services were held for Muriel C. Gardner on Friday, November 9, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Elma. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Elma. Rev John Hemann officiated the service.

Muriel C. Gardner, 82, died Monday, November 5, at her home in Elma of natural causes.

She was born June 2, 1919, at Elma, the daughter of Ed and Mabel (Roche) McAvoy. She was united in marriage to Joe Gardner on November 21, 1938 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe and a brother Leo McAvoy.

Muriel is survived by a daughter Joan Schlicht of Rancho Mirage, CA, five grandchildren: Kim (Mark) Bazinet of San Bemadino, CA, Nancy (Allen) Pira of Temecula, CA, Pat (Kris) of Indino, CA, Tom (Veronica) Indio, CA, and Mike of San Diego, six great grandchildren and a sister Betty Bigley of Elma.
