Funeral services for Thomas Felper of Lime Springs were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wedneday, December 19 at the Riceville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Carey officiating. Interment was in LeRoy Cemetery in LeRoy, MN. Hindt-Huchins Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Thomas, 87, died Sunday, December 16, 2001 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage where he had been a short time.
Thomas K Felper was born February 9, 1914, the son of Thomas Felper and Nina Ritter in Mitchell Co.
On May 8, 1933 he married Lois Stanbro in Preston, MN. She passed away in 1985. Tom was later united in marriage to Opal Jensen in Lime Springs and Opal passed away in January 1994. Tom farmed for the majority of his life and semi retired in the late 60s. He then purchased a grain truck and hauled grain for approximately 10 years.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing cards.
He is survived by two daughters: Alma Hickey of Kewanee, IL and Ardella Felper of Cresco; two sons: Arnold and Amil, both of Riceville;
17 grandchildren; 36 greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister: Nora Hamilton of Elkton, MN.
Thomas was preceded in death by his first and second wives; one son; six brothers; two

Services were held on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at the Riceville United Methodist Church for Thomas K. Felper. The Rev. Mike Carey officiated the service. Burial was in the LeRoy Cemetery, LeRoy, Minn.
Thomas Felper, 87 of Lime Springs, died Sunday night at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa, where he had been a short time.
Felper was born February 9, 1914 to Thomas Felper and Nina Ritter in Mitchell Co., Iowa. He was united in marriage to Lois Stanbro on May 8, 1933 in Preston, Minn. She passed away in 1985. Tom was later united in marriage in August of 1988 to Opal Jensen in Lime Springs and Opal passed away in January 1994. Tom farmed for the majority of his life and semi retired in the late 60’s. He then purchase a grain truck and hauled grain for approximately 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Alma and Eugene Hickey of Kewanee Ill., sons Arnold and Mardella Felper, and Amil and Leota Felper, both of Riceville and daughter, Ardella Felper of Cresco, IA, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. A sister, Nora Hamilton of Elkton, Minn, and a special friend Marilyn Irwin of Riceville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Lois, his second wife Opal, one son, six brothers, two sisters, one half brother and two half sisters.
