Services held for Joyce Eckerman,
Funeral services for Joyce Eckerman will be held at the United Methodist Church in Forest City on Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Gary Marzolf officiated. Interment is in the Saratoga Cemetery. Petersen Lund Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
Joyce, 87, died on Sunday April 1, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Joyce Eckerman was born December 21, 1913 at Saratoga, the daughter of Roy and Cora (Robinson) Sigler. Joyce received her education in rural schools of Howard County and graduated from Riceville High School.
On June 6, 1933 she married LeRoy H. Eckerman at Lourdes. The couple farmed for many years in Howard County and after retiring, moved to Cresco. During which time Joyce worked as a teacher's aide. They later moved to Waterloo.
Joyce has lived in Forest City for the past nine years until her death.
Survivors include one daughter: Patricia Peckham of LaPorte City; two sons: Jerry of Waterloo and Lindsay of Forest City; 13 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; three sons: David, Mark, and Dennis; two granddaughters; her parents; and one sister: Joan Machin.
