Services held for Anna Grace Chance
Funeral services for Anna Grace Chance of Cresco were held on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Assumption Worship Center in Cresco. Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiated. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco at a later date. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Anna Grace, 94, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.
Anna Grace Chance was born July 3, 1906 in Cresco, the daughter of Charles Parnell and May (Hoy) McNally. She attended school at Assumption School and graduated from Assumption High School. She then continued her schooling and became a teacher. Anna Grace later went into business and did bookkeeping, became credit manager of the Sears store in Cresco and went on to become a credit manager for Sears in Minneapolis.
She married William W. Chance Jr.
She retired and moved back to Cresco about 30 years ago and became very active as a volunteer, both at the hospital and at the Evans Memorial Home. She spent much of her free time crocheting afghans, watching videos on travel and traveling.
She was a past president of the Howard County Historical Society.
Survivors include one daughter: Patricia Rosenbrock of Dundee, IL; one son: Michael of Rauch, OR; and three grandchildren.
Anna Grace was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother: Charles Robert McNally.
