Funeral services will be field on Thursday, July 12, 2001 for Ronald Lee “Butch” Cassidy, 51, of Lime Springs. The Rev. Margaret Asabea will officiate the service to be held at the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Lime Springs.
Mr. Cassidy was born in Waterloo, Iowa on Feb. 15, 1950 to La Von and Carl Cassidy. He attended grade school in Limes Springs and high school in Crestwood of Cresco, Iowa, graduating in 1968.
Ronald attended the Journalism School of South Dakota State in Brookings. SD. He worked along with his father in publishing two newspapers and running a printing business. Later he was employed at the Snyder Printing Company of Chatfield. Minnesota.
He was a member of the Lime Springs United Methodist Church. Ronald was a giving person, an avid gardener and loved being out in nature. He loved a wide variety of music, but especially praise and worship particularly “Shalom Jerusalem” and “Give Thanks”.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, La Von, sisters; Carla Cassidy of Lime Springs and Maureen (David) Persinger of West Des Moines; brothers, Gregory (Deborah) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Dr. Andrew (Catherine) of Rollo, Missouri and Dr. Kent of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He passed away at the Regional Health Services of Howard County on July 7, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father. Carl and a younger sister, Kathleen.
Lindstrom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
