Mrs. P. S. Whitman, formerly a resident of Vernon Springs and of Cresco, died at her home in Tocao, Georgia, the first of this month, Rev. P. S. Whitman and wife were among the very early settlers of the county, residing here during the summers until within the past dozen years. They located upon the farm directly opposite that of J. M. Field, selling it to S. M. Wildman. C. W. Sawyer we believe was a relative of Mrs. Whitman.
