Louisa Alexander.
Mrs. Louisa Alexander, beloved wife of Mr. M. B. Alexander, aged 70 years, 10 mouths and 11 days, died at her home in Cresco, Iowa, Saturday, July 11, 1896.
Miss Louisa M. Culver was born April 22, 1825, in Lenox, Madison Co., N. Y.; was converted in 1843 and united with the Baptist church at Clockville. N. Y.; moving to Petersboro, she joined the Baptist church there in 1847.
Dec. 5, 1849, at Perryville, N. Y., she was united in marriage to Mr. M. B. Alexander. 1861 they moved to Dodge county, Wis., and in 1867 went to Waukesha, Wis., uniting by letter with the Baptist church at each place. In 1868 she moved with her family to Howard county. Iowa, uniting with the Baptist church at Vernon Springs and was a member of the Baptist church of Cresco at the time of her death.
Three children were born to them, two dying in infancy. One daughter Mrs. Emma Andrews, survives, with the husband and father, to mourn the loss of a loving wife and a kind and affectionate mother.
Funeral services were held at the family residence Monday at 10 a. in., conducted by Rev. O. H. Holmes, assisted by the choir of the Baptist church. The interment was at Oaklawn.—Republican.
