Raymond Baumgartner, 88 of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, June 05, 2013 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, IA. Ray was born on November 24, 1924 in Cresco, Iowa, the son of Earnest and Jessie (Hovey) Baumgartner. He married Marjorie Cameron on October 17, 1945. They farmed near Ridgeway until January 1, 1950. He then was an inseminator for Eastern Iowa Breeders until 1964. He then was a salesman for Northeast F.S. Farm Supply Coop for 9 years. In September of 1978 he began working at Donaldson’s in Cresco, IA until his retirement in 1990. Ray’s passion was harness racing in which he began in 1973 and continued until his retirement. He is survived by his sons, Robert and Randy, a daughter Rhonda, his grandchildren, Alisa, Andrea (AJ), Adam, Amy, Andrew, and Alex, and his great-grandchildren, Landen, Brecken, Kailey, Karson, and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marge
