Mildred 'Dolly' Lienhard, age 85, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her home at the Cresco Care Center. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 22, at 10:00 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, with Pastor Michael Massa officiating. Burial will be at New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco. Friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco. Dolly Mae Hovey was born April 6, 1927 in Bristol Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Lillian (Bjortomt) Hovey. She was baptized and confirmed at the Saetersdal Lutheran Church and attended rural school. On September 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Travis Lienhard of Cresco. They resided and raised their beautiful family in Cresco. She was a member of the Womens’s VFW, and an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Circle. Growing up on a farm near Granger gave Dolly her love for the outdoors, the farm and animals. She loved to visit with family and friends, and always looked forward to family get togethers, going to Merlie’s to hitch up the team, fishing (with her cane pole), and just having a picnic. Dolly’s most recent love was seeing and being part of her grandkids and great-grandkids, watching go-kart racing, driving to Merlie’s farm, family holidays/gatherings, chatting with her many visitors, joining all of her special friends at the meal table, and the loving friendships she made with her caregivers at the Cresco Care Center! Her sweet personality, friendly smile and gratitude for life will be missed by many. She is survived by her 3 sons: Loel Lienhard, Lindsey and his wife, Linda (Goldsworthy) Lienhard, Louie and his wife, Lisa (Hovden) Lienhard all of Cresco. Seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis, a son Larry, a daughter Lillian, daughter-in-law Trudie (Stevenson) Lienhard, brothers Charles and Merland Hovey, sister Cleone Hafner and her parents.
