James E. McIntyre, 82, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away May 1, 2012, at his home in Cresco, Iowa. He was born on January 31, 1930, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Vern and Ares (Anderson) McIntyre. James attended country schools. He was united in marriage to Doris Mae Lucas on April 14, 1951. James served his country in the United States Marine Corps of three years. He worked for Balks, driving and working in the quarries and for the city of Cresco until he retired. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, making bread and cinnamon rolls and sewing. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. James is survived by his son Steve (Miriam) of Cresco, grandchildren Charlie and Michael (special friend Breanna Jensen) of Cresco, brother Sherman (Wava) McIntyre, sister Bev (Don) Jackson, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Ares, wife Doris, son Dan, four brothers and two sisters.

Cemetery:
Burial will take place in the New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco, Iowa.
