Karen Fritz, 59, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, surrounded by her family.

Karen Adell Fritz was born February 20th 1952 in Cresco, IA the daughter of Vernon and Rose( Timmerman) Reuter. She attended Cresco schools.

In 1972 she married Martin(Buck)Comstock. And in 1974 they moved to San Diego, California. Buck and Karen later divorced and Karen moved back to the Cresco area in 1983. On December 31st 1985 she married Gary V. Fritz. And in 1988 they moved to Fayette, IA. And then in 2001 they moved to Waterloo, IA.

Karen enjoyed camping, traveling, karaoke, playing pool and being with friends, family and her cat Shelby. She collected many salt and pepper shakers from all over the USA. Karen was vice president of the Aerie 764 Women Auxiliary, and volunteered work with the Eagles Club in Waterloo, IA.

Karen is survived by daughter Melissa(Steve) Jensen of Cresco. Son Marcus(Lola) Comstock of Spring Valley, Illinois. Stepson- Jeremy(Misty) LaPlant of Waterloo, Stepdaughter Jaime(Jeremy)Ruckdashel of Clermont, Sisters Ruby(Gordon) Wilson of Cedar Rapids. Ruth Leferink of Riceville. Ida(Don) Zakostelecky of Lime Springs. Brother Robert(Phyllis) Reuter of Waterloo. Brother-in-law Frank Zakostelecky. And sister-in-law Shirleen(Greg) Rosendahl of Waukon. Grandchildren Breannah, Nicole and Joshua Jensen, Austin Comstock, Kaylee La Plant and Zachary, Alison, Isiah, Levi and Tara Ruckdashel. And many nieces and nephews.

Cemetery:
interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, IA.

Visitation:
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, as well as one hour prior to services at the church.

Service:
Funeral Services for Karen will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 16th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, IA
