Florence Tapp, 92, of Cresco, IA passed away at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, IA on Saturday, May 29, 2010.
Florence Anna (Niewald) Tapp was born in Howard County, Cresco, Iowa on October 3, 1917 to George William & Anna Amelia (Henke) Niewald.
She was educated in Howard County and in Cresco, and also attended school in Minnesota for nursing, where she met her husband of 63 years, who was studying mechanics.
On March 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clifford L. Tapp at St. Martin's Lutheran Church at Davis Corners, Iowa, the same church where Florence, when younger, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1943 they moved to Cresco where they made their home.
She was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church serving on as ELCA officer, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the church choir for more than forty years. She was a nurse at the care centers in Cresco and also had a pharmaceutical certificate. She loved children and was also a school bus driver for a number of years. She was a Campfire, and Bluebird leader for several years and a member of the Rebekah Lodge, serving in many offices, achieving the rank of Nobel Grand and Past Nobel Grand of the Lodge.She enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables. She enjoyed all music very much, including dancing, playing a piano, organ & accordion by ear. She also enjoyed baking and having her grandson's Brad & Brent around and was so very proud of them. They were her pride & joy. Being able to see their families was a great ray of sunshine for her. She loved her great-grandchildren Haylee, Kaiya, Callie and Kaden and enjoyed it when they were able to come and visit her.
She is survived by her daughter Florene (Richard) Holten, grandsons: Bradley (Alison) Holten & Brenton (Sarah) Holten. Great-granddaughters- Haylee Holten, Kaiya Holten & Callie Holten and great-grandson- Kaden Holten, all of Cresco.
She was preceded in death by her parents George & Anna Niewald, her sister, Adeline(Roy) Frank in August, 1991 and her husband Clifford in December, 2004.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco, IA.Visitation:
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, and also one hour prior to services at the church.Service:
