Lent passed away Wednesday forenoon at about 11 o’clock, after a few days of severe illness from uremic poisoning, although she has been in frail health for many years. The funeral was held at the home this morning, conducted by Rev. Gammons. She leaves one son, Fred C., and a daughter, Helen, to mourn her loss. The deceased was for several years before her marriage a teacher in the Public Schools of Cresco, and the writer has always carried pleasant recollections of attendance in the room in which she taught when he first entered school.

Katherine Isabelle, only daughter of George M. Harris and Charlotte M. McKenzie, was born at Cedar Falls, Iowa, August 22, 1859, and died December 2, 1914, at the home of her son Fred C. Lent.
When but a small child she with her parents moved to Conover, Iowa, where after a short residence, they moved to New Oregon. In the fall of 1866 the family came to Cresco, which place, with the exception of a few years spent at Forest City and Ft. Atkinson, Iowa, has been her home. She was educated in the Cresco public schools, and after finishing entered the State Normal at Cedar Falls, being a member of the first class ever graduating from that school. After several terms in the country she joined the teaching force of the Cresco public schools, and after serving four years was married to Charles P. Lent, who died Feb. 4, 1910. To this union were born two children, Frederick Charles and Helen Charlotte, who reside «n Cresco. Mrs. Lent had been a chronic sufferer from asthma for over thirty years, which developed into euremic{sic} trouble which was the cause of death. Besides the children she also leaves one brother, Frederick M. Harris, a lawyer, in New York City. She was baptized in the Episcopal faith.
Funeral services were held at the home Friday morning, Dec. 4, conducted by Rev. John Gammons. Burial was at Oak Lawn.Transcriber's Note: Her gravestone shows the spelling of her first name as Catherine.
