Mrs. John Derr passed away Monday morning at her home southwest of Cresco, after a long illness. The funeral was held Wednesday from the German Lutheran church. We will publish an obituary of deceased in our next issue.

Dorothy Derr (nee Frank) was born April 6. 1852, at Wiesweiler, Germany, where she grew to womanhood. In 1870 she arrived in Cresco, and in 1876 was united in marriage with John Derr. Ten children sprang from this union of whom nine, four sons and five daughters survive her, while one died in early infancy. Gradually failing for the last three years she became seriously ill about three weeks ago and passed away February 2nd. Wednesday, February 4th, the remains were interred at New Oregon after services in Immanuel's Lutheran church, J. Pless officiating.

Mrs. Adam Schneider and sister, Mrs. Mary Derr, who were called here to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. John Derr, left Tuesday for their home in Milwaukee.
