Dorothy Precious, 101, of Cresco, IA, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, IA.

Dorothy was born on December 14, 1908 to E.R. and Lillie (Howard) Precious. Dorothy was a teacher for rural schools until they were closed. Following their closures, Dorothy moved to Des Moines, IA where she worked in a defense plant during World War II. Once the war ended she took the Civil Service exam and was employed in the Des Moines Post Office, where she remained until her retirement. Once Dorothy retired she returned to Cresco and lived the remainder of her life, spending the last 5 years in the Evans Memorial Home.

She is survived by two nephews; Michael Precious of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Tom Precious of MI, and one cousin, Evelyn Morgan of Cresco, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, John, Harry, and Ernest Precious Jr.
