Jennie Clancy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Clancy, was born in Howard County, Iowa, June 17, 1888, and died in the Hospital at Alta Vista, Monday evening, January 12, 1914, after a serious operation for appendicitis. The operation was performed by Ora. Sheldon and Hastings. Everything was done to relieve the sufferer that could be done by loving hands, but of no avail. She bore her sufferings with great courage and patience that was remarkable, always greeting those around her with a smile. She will be missed by her father, mother, four sisters and two brothers: Bernard, Mary, John, Margaret, Rose and Clara, and many relatives and a host of friends. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Father Collins, of Cecelia, who after the Mass spoke briefly on the goodness of her life. The remains were taken, then to Lourdes and buried in the Lourdes Cemetery beside her sister and brother. The pall bearers were Francis Clancy, of Cresco, Charles O'Brien, of Lourdes. Frankie Dinger, of Maple Leaf, John E Enright, of Elma, Max Roetbler, of Alta Vista,, and Eddie I Marion, of Cecelia. ,
