Sudden Death of Elmer Glass.
Our people were inexpressibly shocked late Monday afternoon to learn of the unexpected death of T. E. Glass, who underwent an operation about two weeks ago at the hospital for rupture; and who was thought to be recovering nicely and expected to return home the day following his death. He had sat up all the afternoon chatting with callers and was feeling excellently except a pain in his right leg which had commenced the day previous. Just as he was returning to bed, he was taken ill and passed away before any of his family could arrive. Death was probably caused by a blood clot striking the heart.

Mr. Glass has been in business in Cresco for nearly twenty years, prospering in a financial way and at the same time establishing a reputation as an honest, exemplary and progressive citizen that was strikingly shown by the large attendance of friends and business men at the funeral, which was held Wednesday afternoon in the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. John Gammons and in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Interment in Oak Lawn.
