James R. Gunhus, 75, of Papillion, NE passed away on August 28, 2012 at home after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Cresco, IA November 25, 1936 to Ted and Evelyn Ratcliffe Gunhus. He graduated from Cresco High School in 1955. After graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Lybbert, on August 10th 1958. Jim was the proud father to four children, Jim (Jennifer) Gunhus, Julie (Mark) Schneider, Ted Gunhus, and Candace Riha. He was a loving and involved grandfather to eight grandchildren, Dustin Zuck, Ashley Zuck, Alex Gunhus, Amanda Gunhus, Chandler Gunhus, Logan Schneider, Grace Gunhus, and Langley Riha. Jim retired from John Deere in 1999 and moved to the Omaha, NE area to be with his family. His love of sports stayed constant and he enjoyed his time on the golf course. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Papillion, NE. Survivors include his wife Sharon, their children, grandchildren, his sister Darlene Bronner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Orville, and his sister Marcella Creger.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco.
