Leonard N. Robinson, 82, died in Gulf Shores, AL Sunday, February 8 after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church in Cresco, IA. Internment will be in the Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, IA.Leonard was born January 21, 1927 Saratoga Township, IA the son of Henry and Winnie (Sigler) Robinson. He served in the Army from 1945-1946 and was stationed in Korea. He married Phyllis Norman December 23, 1945. After farming for several years the family moved to Cresco. Leonard was employed at Kratz Motors over twenty years before opening his own business, Robinson Motors. Leonard enjoyed cars, especially driving his No. 50 race car at several tracks in NE Iowa. He loved fishing, attending auctions, tinkering with just about anything, going to dances and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the local American Legion and VFW Posts. Leonard is survived by two daughters: Sharyl Cline of Townsend, VA; Deborah Robinson of Gulf Shores, AL; one son: Greg (Shirley) Robinson of California, MO; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters: Hazel Robinson and Perry Ann (Arnold) Blaser; two brothers: Charlie Robinson, and Henry Junior (Charlotte) Robinson; four sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis and his parents.
