Rose E. Stevenson, 81, of Lime Springs, IA passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lime Springs, IA. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, Iowa.
Rosemarie Emma Drewelow was born on April 23, 1927 and graduated from New Hampton High School. She married Russell Stevenson on January 5, 1948 and they worked in Algonquin, IL in a factory and began farming in 1951 in the Lime Springs area.
Rose was a very active member of the United Methodist Church, vice president of the U.M.W., a member of the Morning Stars Circle, and the Chat & Do Club, in which she held various offices.
She enjoyed gardening, writing letters, crocheting, sewing, handcrafts, volunteering, and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy in life was giving to others and she was constantly baking and delivering her goodies to friends and relatives throughout the community.
She is survived by a daughter Michala (Harold) Sinning of Pine Island, MN, a son, Russell (Karen) Stevenson, Jr., of Lime Springs, IA, five grandchildren, Robert and Christopher Sinning, Tressa Walton, and Jackie and Rodney Stevenson, and seven great grandchildren, Paul Ringstrom, Aleasha Kreinbring, Colton, Austin, and Brooke Sinning, and Samantha and Sydney Walton, sisters Isabell Brookins of New Hampton, IA, and Ruth Weeks of Texas, and a brother Francis Drewelow of New Hampton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell in 2001, four sisters, three brothers, a granddaughter Laura, and a great grandson, Blake.
