PROTIVIN - Pauline R. Vsetecka, 87, Protivin, died Monday, Jan. 17 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo after a short illness.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Protivin, with Rev. Allan Schmitt presiding. Marlene Pecinovsky was organist.

Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Protivin, with Vincent Frana, Ron Shindelar, Gary Shinde-lar, Robert Wagner, Edgar Shindelar, Larry Shindelar, Thomas Wagner, John O. Shindelar, Edward Shindelar and Charles L. Shindelar serving as casket bearers.

Pauline Rosie Vsetecka was born June 16, 1912 to John J. and Anna (Kruchek) Shindelar on the family farm near Spillville. She attended grade school in Spillville. On Oct. 9, 1933 she married Clarence Vsetecka at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. They farmed near Protivin many years and after Clarence's death, Pauline moved to Protivin. She was involved with church activities, enjoyed gardening and playing cards and was a great cook. She shared her musical talents at area nursing homes. Pauline was a life long member of the Catholic Workman.

Surviving are two brothers, John Shindelar, Spillville and Alois Shindelar, rural Fort Atkinson; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence on July 3, 1989; parents; two sisters, Anna Wagner and Agnes Frana; a brother, V.J. Shindelar.

Balik Funeral Home, Spillville, was in charge of arrangements.
