Services held for Delores Richardson

Funeral services, for Delores Richardson of Elma were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Riceville. Rev. Ray Atwood officiated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Riceville. Pall bearers were nephews: Tom and Steve Anderlik, James, Darrel, Dean, and David Richardson, and Jerry Stahl. Honorary casket bearers were Sandy and Louis Kettman, Jean and John Gilson, Sally Smith and Bechy Smalley. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Delores, 63, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at the Riceville Community Rest Home of lung cancer.

Delores Marie Richardson was born July 4, 1937 the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (O'Brien) Richardson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Delores attended the Riceville schools.

Delores married Frank L. Stivers in Hudson, this union lasted twenty-seven years until their divorce in 1991. She has worked at Allen Memorial Hospital for the past twenty-three years.

Delores was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Waterloo. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include her two sons: Lonnie Richardson of Waterloo, and Mark Springer of Marshalltown: two grandchildren: her father, Charles of Riceville: one brother: William of Hayfield, MN: and one sister, Irene Anderlik of Riceville.

Delores was preceded in death by her mother and one brother Leland.
