from Elma library collection assembled by Marian (Marr) McGeeE L M A — Dorothy E. Reynolds, 86, Elma, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 at Afton Oaks Assisted Living in Elma of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma with Rev. Roger R. Rethamel officiating. Music will be provided by organists Jolene rantzen and Theresa Burke and the Immaculate Conception Church Choir . Hymns include "Here I Am Lord", "The Prayer of St. Francis", "How Great Thous Art" and "Be Not Afraid". Lector will be Bernice Maruska, servers will be Edward Pietan and Aaron Burke and gift bearers will be Linda Parsnley and Jolene Maruska.
Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco.
Friends may call an hour- prior to services at the Church. Conway Funeral Home in Elma is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy E. Reynolds was born Feb. 16, 1914 at Alta Vista, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Stalzer) Frantzen. She attended St. William's School in Alta Vista. Dorothy was united in marriage with Thomas Reynolds on Sept. 1,1937 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista. After their marriage the couple farmed near Lourdes. Following their retirement the couple lived in the Alert Manor in Cresco. Dorothy moved to New Hampton in 1981 after her husbands death, where she stayed until moving into the assisted living at the Colonial Manor in Elma in 1998. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing and homemaking.
Surviving are five sisters, Olivia Ralph, New Hampton, Bernice Maruska, St. Paul, MN, Alfreda Tozzi, Chicago, IL, Helen Fair, Elma, Joan Larson, Sedona, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Thomas on Feb. 6, 1982; three brothers, John Frantzen, Leonard Frantzen, Joe Frantzen Jr.; one sister, Marie Hilsman.
