Rose A. Nibaur, age 48 of Elma, IA passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Lourdes, IA with Father Mark Murphy celebrating. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma with a 7:30 PM Scriptural Wake Service. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Saturday. Online condolences for Rose’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Rose Ann Nibaur was born January 25, 1968 to John and Eleanor (Wichman) Burke in New Hampton, IA. She attended and graduated from Crestwood High School. After graduating she attended NIACC in Mason City, IA where she earned her degree as an LPN. On June 11, 1988 Rose was united in marriage to Jeffrey Nibaur at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma. The couple made their home on an acreage outside of Elma where they currently reside. To this union three children were born, Stephanie, Emily and Justin. Rose then began her ten year career at Sara Lee. Then proceeded to earn her RN Degree from NICC in Calmar. She worked 13 years as a nurse, working for St. Mary’s in Rochester, and Regional Health Services in Cresco. Rose enjoyed spending time with family and friends; especially attending her children’s events. Rose was also an avid walker. She will be remembered most by her heart of gold, her infectious smile and ability to laugh with others. Rose was able to light up any room with her sparkling eyes even in the toughest times. She was a member of the Rosary Society and taught religious education at Our Lady of Lourdes for a number of years.Rose is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Nibaur of Elma; her children, Stephanie (John) Brehm of Mt. Vernon, IA, Emily Nibaur of Marion, IA and Justin of Elma; her mother, Eleanor Burke of Elma; her mother and father-in-law, Francis and Peggy Nibaur of Elma; her siblings, Ann (Dennis) O’Brien of Elma, John Burke of Cresco, Edward (Sue) Burke of Elma, Joseph (Sandra) Burke of Lime Springs, Patrick (Renee) Burke of Elma, Gene Burke of Elma, Chuck (Wendy) Burke of New Hampton, Dennis Burke of Alta Vista, Rick Burke of Elma, Randy (Jenny) Burke of Elma and Kenny (Christine) Burke of Cresco; her in-laws; Lisa (Mike) Persels of Tiffin, IA, Greg (Colleen) Nibuar of Marion, IA, and John Baughman of Indianapolis, IN; numerous nieces nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Burke and her sister-in-law, Sara Baughman.
