Funeral services for Owen Owens were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4 at the Cresco Community Chapel. Rev. Michael Simiele officiated. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Lime Springs. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Owen, 97, died Friday, November 3, 2000 at the Evans Memorial Home.
Owen Owens was born May 13, 1903 in Howard County, near Lime Springs, the son of William and Mathilda (Leitz) Owens.
On February 27, 1932 he married Mae Bjortomt in Ostrander, MN.
Owen attended Barber School in Minneapolis, then spent many years in Chicago working as a tuckpointer. After retiring, Owen and Mae moved to Cresco where he has lived to the present.
Owen was preceded in death by his wife Mae on May 11, 1983; his parents; one brother: William; and one sister: Margaret Jones.
